Oh my goodness, how did we get to February already???

Important Dates
*February 7th - HHS Play (2nd, 3rd, 4th) 
*February 14th -  Valentine's Day celebration
*February 15th & 18th - School Holidays

Areas of focus right now: 
  •  Math Module 7:  Problem Solving with Length, Money, and Data
  • Word Problems...Read Draw Write
  • Finishing Wonders Unit 5 (Let's Make A Difference) , and moving into Unit 6 (How on Earth?)
  • Grammar:  contractions,adjectives, articles, adverbs, prepositional phrases
  • Spelling:  a, aw, au, augh, al, ough, closed/open syllables, CVCe syllables, Consonant + le (el, al), vowel team syllables, r-controlled vowel syllables
  • Writing Focus:  Informative Text and Narrative Text (Paragraph Format)
  • Science: Earth's Resources
  • Social Studies:  Our Government, Map Skills, Producers and Consumers, Today and Yesterday
Please be working on (at home):
  • Math Facts to 20 both addition and subtraction  (They need to memorize these (automatically... No finger counting.) They need to have these MASTERED before the end of the year.
  • AR (reading together every night, and bringing books back to school every day)
  • Homework Completion....THIS IS IMPORTANT!!!
  • THIS IS HUGE.....PLEASE LISTEN TO YOUR child read OUT LOUD TO YOU for 15 minutes each night!
  • Nice Handwriting and Correct Letter Formation
  • PLEASE continue to remind of your child each day of in class appropriate behaviors and that learning is the most important part of our school day!
