We are pleased to announce the 9th Annual Hickman Schools' Student Craft Fair! This festive event has become a community tradition and important fundraising event for the Hickman G.A.T.E. Program and our students and is one of Hickman School's most popular annual happenings. It is also a great holiday shopping tradition right here in Hickman! The Student Craft Fair is truly a wonderful opportunity for our local students who are participating to learn to plan, budget, create, and showcase their talents as they sell a creative craft to their peers, school employees, and community members! Their excitement and creativity bring the fun and yummy goods, and the community brings extra holiday cheer! Come visit us in the Hickman School Auditorium on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, December 8, 9, and 10, 2015. I hope you had a chance to visit our annual Harvest Festival this past Thursday, October 29th. Families came to play carnival games like Coin Toss, Cake Walk and Go Fishing and kids accumulated large quantities of candy! Adults and kids alike played Bingo in the library for prizes donated by our families and Mr. Gardner supervised the Hickman driving range. The themed baskets were a huge success and created some friendly competition between buyers---namely between Mrs. Nichols and myself! Sixth graders served the dinner guests drinks and pie while they dined on the divine turkey and fixings. Students are the benefactors of the money earned from the Harvest Festival and the dinner. Sixth graders' Camp Sea Lab tuition is supplemented and classrooms have funds for field trips and other supplies. The Harvest Festival and Sixth Grade Turkey Dinner would not have been possible without the tireless efforts and time of countless staff and parent volunteers, the donations of candy and prizes by our families and businesses, and the attendance of those in and around the Hickman community. Thank you to everyone! |
